August Stands for Wellness
A focus on wellness is not new. Ancient civilizations of India, China, Greece and Rome were as shown in intellectual and religious movements.
Wellness has however evolved over time.
In 2025 one group’s definition is “a conscious, self-directed, and evolving process of achieving one’s full potential.”
Conventional wisdom highlights these areas that feed into a person’s wellness.
Physical – taking care of your body.
Mental – safeguarding your brain.
Emotional – balancing and expressing your feelings.
Spiritual – finding a higher purpose.
Social – keeping connections to others.
Environmental – working to keep our environment healthy.
Private Home Health Care (PHHC) works with our clients to create a balanced lifestyle so as to achieve a high level of wellness.
We provide help with your meals, gentle exercises and easy walks. Doing puzzles and word searches, playing card games and coloring or painting help your mind.
PHCC caters to your emotional needs by listening to music, running in errands with you or showing kindness by spending time and listening to stories.
We can accompany you to church services or watch meaningful movies or services online.
Coordinating visits with your family members and friends can help you stay socially connected.
Finding time to get you out to enjoy the outdoors, taking a drive, and even having flowers available can create appreciation for your environment.
No matter what age you are but especially as you age, taking time to focus on wellness in your life is one way to stay well balanced and connected to yourself, others and your world.
