The Benefits of Music

Music is loved by people all over the world.  It may not be the same kind of music everyone loves but it’s still music.

For those of you that have had music in your lives for many years, we hope that you still enjoy it today so you reap the benefits.

A certain song can bring you right back to a moment in time, a love or an experience.  You might even be able to remember exactly when you heard it.

That memory can bring joy and happiness and can ward off feelings of depression.

You can release your anxiety and stress by listening to music you love.  This can help with your breathing, blood pressure and heart.

You might find that you become more relaxed too.

When you listen or participate in music sessions with a group you might be able to communicate better with others.

Additionally, if you’ve had trauma in your life music can be a way to help deal with it and potentially process and express your feelings.

Music can be a way to help people with dementia or Alzheimer’s as well.  You can become very isolated which again can lead to depression.

By listening to familiar music it could spark memories, calm any agitation and might even bring back identities or experiences.
